Professional Psychological Evaluations
Psychological Evaluations provide an opportunity for a Licensed Psychologist to determine the best ways in which to help an individual. It is not a test that you can fail but rather an assessment tool that arrives at a diagnosis. The evaluation examines and observes a client’s behavior to better develop a treatment plan. At The International Center for the Attainment of Love and Joy psychological evaluations are conducted by a Licensed Psychologist at our discreet location in Coon Rapids, MN. We offer clients a supportive and comfortable experience.
Who Can Be Helped By A Psychological Evaluation?
A Psychological Assessment may be administered for several different reasons. It can be helpful for a variety of issues or situations.
- Problems at work or school may warrant testing for a learning disability, memory problem, emotional disorder, brain injury, ADHD or dementia
- Relationship or work problems could be diagnosed with testing for anger management issues, emotional disorders, personality traits, depression or anxiety
- Evaluations are sometimes ordered to see if a person is competent to stand trial, identify a traumatic brain injury, determine if an individual has dyslexia or if a job candidate would make a good employee
Psychological Assessments And Tests
There are two separate components that are part of Psychological Evaluation. They are Assessments and Tests. Each is an important tool in the diagnosis process. A specially trained licensed evaluator will choose Psychological Tests such as questionnaires or formal checklists.
The Psychological Assessment may include many different components that the Licensed Psychologist deems helpful in reaching an accurate diagnosis. These could include medical or school records, interviews, observational data and medical evaluations.
